About the Founder

I’ve spent more than three decades planning and designing complex architectural projects across the United States and internationally. That experience has shaped a clear design philosophy: Architecture must respond to real life — to the way people move, gather, rest, and interact in their surroundings every day.

My name is Scott Kreitlein, and I am an Utah licensed architect who began his career here before living and working in several regions around the world. Each place offered new lessons in culture, climate, craft, and the many ways people define “home.” Those experiences broadened my understanding of how thoughtful design can elevate daily living.

Returning to Utah feels like coming full circle. The mountains, the light, and the landscape that first inspired me now provide the backdrop for the homes I design. My goal is to bring global insight and technical expertise back to the place I love — creating custom homes that are deeply personal, beautifully crafted, and grounded in the spirit of Utah.

Driving Principles

  • Every project begins with understanding the client’s lifestyle, goals, and vision for their home in the quest for their complete satisfaction.

  • Clear, transparent communication ensures clients remain informed and engaged throughout the entire process.

  • Creative thinking transforms practical requirements into beautiful, livable spaces, that are timeless - tailored to the needs, wants and wishes of the occupants.

  • Thoughtful design strategies and modern technologies improve comfort, efficiency, and long-term performance.

  • Successful homes are created through collaboration between the client, architect, engineers, and builder.

  • Careful consideration of proportions, materials, and construction details ensures quality and craftsmanship.

  • A structured process guides projects from early vision through construction for clarity, efficiency, and successful outcomes.

  • Design that decisions balance architectural quality with budget and long-term value.

The design Process

Vision & Programming

The project begins with a discovery process to understand the client’s lifestyle, design preferences, and project goals. Inspirational images, style references, and a prioritized space list help define the architectural vision and establish the project scope, budget, and schedule.

site Analysis

The building site is carefully studied to understand topography, views, access, utilities, and environmental factors. This analysis informs the placement, orientation, and overall design strategy for the home.

Conceptual Design

Initial design concepts explore building form, spatial relationships, and overall architectural character. Early coordination with engineering disciplines helps ensure the concept is practical and buildable.

Design Development

The selected concept is refined through more detailed drawings, materials, and building systems coordination, bringing the design into clearer focus.

Construction Documents

Comprehensive drawings and specifications are prepared to communicate the design for contractor pricing, permitting, and construction.

Permitting

The project is submitted to the local jurisdiction for review and approval, with support provided to address any comments or requirements.

Construction Observation

Periodic site visits during construction help verify that the home is built in accordance with the design intent and quality expectations.
